Dr. Binod Kumar is a Retired Professor of Behavioral Sciences and Area Coordinator at the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta. He took voluntary retirement from IIM Calcutta in 2001 to join as Director and Chair Professor at FORE School of Management, New Delhi. At present he is Chairman, Abhigyan Consultants and Visiting Professor of IIM Ranchi. Prior to this Dr. Kumar has held positions of Executive President, Maharishi Institutes of Management in India, Director of I.M.T. Ghaziabad, Program Specialist at Colombo Plan Staff College Singapore, Chairman and Northern Regional Committee of the National Council of Teacher Education, Govt. of India. He was a Scholar at University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas and Research assistant and then Assistant Professor at Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, Illinois. Prof. Kumar has lectured and done consultancy almost all over the globe. He has held number of important assignments viz. Chairman, Center for Management of Education System at I.I.M.C., One Man Commission (Binod Kumar Commission) for Heavy Engineering Corporation, Member of three man committee of the Government of India on Central Institute for Rural Electrification, Member of the Government of India Committee to start Indian Institute of Tourism and Catering Management, has been in a number of committees, boards etc, including member of the international resource panel of experts of Cost, Finance and Education of University of California at Berkley. Besides, one of the pioneers of Management of Education System Program in India. He remained Chairman of Management of Education System at IIM Calcutta for 15 years; Dr. Kumar is one of the founding fathers of CAT. He has organized more than 500 training programs and has lectured in numerous training programs in India and abroad.
